At the start of the day, our representative will collect you from your hotel and guide you on an exciting tour to explore the most captivating sights of the Sinai desert in a modern jeep.The tour will start by heading towards the Saint Catherine Monastery, nestled in the picturesque Sinai Peninsula at an impressive elevation of 1570 meters. According to tradition, this place holds great significance as it is believed to be where Moses witnessed a miraculous event: a burning bush that did not consume itself. The location is situated in the foothills of Gable Moses or Mount Sinai. Additionally, there is a widely held belief that Moses was given the tablets containing the Ten Commandments at the top of Mount Sinai.
The Saint Catherine Monastery has a rich history that traces back to the age of the emperor Justinian during the 6th century. It was during this time that the impressive enclosure wall surrounding the monastery, which still stands today, was constructed. Nevertheless, the monastery was given the name Saint Catherine in the early 11th century to pay tribute to Saint Catherine, one of the earliest Christian martyrs in Alexandria.
Once you've finished exploring the magnificent monastery, our tour will take you to the beginning of the trail that leads to one of Sinai's geological marvels - the colorful Canyon. It's located approximately 65 kilometers north of the Saint Catherine Monastery. The canyon features impressively slender walls that reach a height of 40 meters and are just over a meter wide. These walls are composed of sandstone and display a remarkable array of colors, ranging from deep brown to vibrant red to pale straw yellow. The presence of magnesium and iron oxides is responsible for all of this. After exploring this incredible site, we will return to Dahab City for a delicious lunch. You can take a leisurely stroll along the vibrant Dahab Street, Mashyia. Afterwards, we will ensure your safe return to your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh.
