Day 1 The Temples of Luxor and Karnak
Located in Luxor, Egypt, on the east bank of the Nile River, the Luxor Temple is an ancient Egyptian temple that dates to ancient times. Around the year 1600 BCE, it was built with the intention of honoring the goddess Mut, who was the spouse of the god Amun. Because of this, the temple is well-known for its well-preserved statues, columns, and hieroglyphs. Additionally, you can witness sphinx avenues that connect with the Karnak complex, which is around three kilometers away. There are more than one thousand sphinxes, each of which has the head of King Ramses II alongside the body of a lion.
