Itinerary Details

Upon arrival, your Egypt Online Tour guide will be waiting for you inside the Port Said Port, holding a signboard with your name on it. And the greatest advantage is that you don't have to search for them; instead, they will discover you. Once you step into the car, your knowledgeable guide will provide you with a comprehensive overview of the entire trip and its various aspects.

Our tour will begin by exploring the Catacombs of Kom El Shokafa, a remarkable Roman Cemetery comprised of three levels carved into the rock. Next, we'll head over to the Roman Amphitheater of Alexandria, where you'll have the opportunity to explore the fascinating sunken monuments of Alexandria. These incredible artifacts were unearthed beneath the East harbour of Alexandria. Next, we'll pass by Pompay's Pillar and make a quick stop for a photo opportunity. This impressive structure was built in the late 4th century to pay tribute to Emperor Diocletian.

Our next destination is the library of Alexandria, renowned as the largest library in the world, housing over eight million books at present. One can admire the statue of Alexander the Great alongside the statue of Ptolemy the first, discovered submerged in its open court. Next, we'll make our way to the renowned Manuscripts Museum, President Sadat Museum, and the captivating Alexandria Museum.

Please be aware that the Library of Alexandria is not open on Fridays and during public holidays. Additionally, in order to access the reading area, a ticket must be purchased.

Once we've finished exploring the museums and their fascinating artifacts, our car will make its way to the St. Mark Church, which holds the distinction of being the oldest church in all of Africa. While on the drive, you'll have the opportunity to see the charming old downtown area and its local historical architecture, which features a mix of Italian and French style properties adorned with beautiful baroque designs.

Next, our tour will take us to El Nabi Daniel Mosque, a site that is thought to have a connection to the tomb of Alexander the Great. According to popular belief, the Mosque is believed to house the remains of a renowned scholar and respected teacher, along with his companion who was known for his religious storytelling.

Following that, you may consider having lunch at Mohamed Ahmed's, a renowned and authentic eatery in Alexandria. After lunch, we will be heading to the AbboElabbas Mosque, which is considered one of the most important and beautiful mosques in the city. Outside the mosque, you'll find a unique sight - an old funfair where children can have fun on vintage rides and try some delicious candy floss. Contrarily, one can discover the corniche and the historic harbor of Alexandria, where men can be seen fishing on traditional fishing boats and skilled fishermen crafting nets. You'll find some truly stunning photographs here.

Our tour will now take us to the Castle of Kaitbey, a magnificent structure that stands on the historic grounds where the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria once stood. This iconic landmark is renowned as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Explore the castle's interior and take in the breathtaking panoramic view of the city from the roof.

Next, the car will make its way to the Montaza Gardens and the Palaces. During your journey, you have the opportunity to visit the King of Mango and enjoy their delicious fresh juices. Additionally, you can take a moment to capture some memorable photographs at the memorial of the Unknown Soldier of Alexandria. As you make your way to the Montaza Gardens and the Palaces, prepare to be captivated by the breathtaking vistas of the city and the picturesque coastline. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to explore the ancient harbor of Alexandria, where a remarkable collection of 7000 monuments were discovered underground.

When you explore the Montaza Gardens, also referred to as the Love Garden, you'll have the opportunity to discover the royal gardens of King Farouk, the final Egyptian King in history. Additionally, one can explore the majestic palaces of Haramlek and Salamlek, take a leisurely stroll across the renowned Montaza Bridge, and visit Tea Palace Island to admire the exquisite beaches frequented by royalty.

On our way back, we'll make a stop at the renowned Bridge of Stanley. This iconic structure, built by Alexander the Great, has become a modern landmark of Alexandria. Afterwards, you can return to your hotel to relax and recharge.

And so, your eventful day exploring the wonders of Alexandria's archaeological sites draws to a close. If you have any specific preferences, please let us know before booking the tour with us. We would be happy to customize the itinerary to include your desired activities in Alexandria.
